Solutions For Medical Documentation

By

Since technology is such an important part of the medical field, it's crucial to know what technological solutions are available and how they can help a medical practice. More exists on the market than most medical professionals know about. One of the more popular solutions is dictation software, which revolutionizes the way medical professionals create, edit and share medical documents. If you haven't heard of it, then now is the time to read to more.
To discover just how dictation software can help a medical practice, let's explore some of the specifics and how it helps in certain situations:
- Dictation software takes the traditional form of transcription and moves it aside. Instead of typing every word and editing everything manually, the user can now do everything with voice commands and prompts. Doesn't that sound much easier? Medical professionals don't have to type, they only have to speak and watch as their speech becomes text on a page.
- Since the focus is on speech, medical professionals may wonder how the software keeps up with advanced medical terminology. Well, developers of this software created an expansive medical vocabulary so the software would understand and recognize certain words. So, a medical professional never has to worry whether the software can keep up or not, because it can.
- As medical practitioners interact with patients, they can swiftly create and edit documents by speaking, which is more natural. Since speaking is so natural, it makes the process much more efficient. It actually becomes three times as efficient as typing or writing by hand. A practitioner can spend more time with a patient, offer service and treatment, and provide quality care that everyone deserves, instead of wasting time on documentation.
- As documents are created, they can easily be shared among the practice. So a doctor in one room may create or edit a document, and a nurse in another room can make additional edits to the same document with easy sharing capabilities. Keeping everything remote to the computer contains documentation and increases sharing capability.
All medical practitioners should consider dictation software because it's too smart and too efficient not to consider. It changes the traditional process of documentation completely and allows practices to become more productive and profitable. Plus, practices can offer better service to patients and keep quality high as they spend less time transcribing documents and spend more time with the people that matter.
Dragon Medical Practice Edition is the solution that medical practitioners need for medical documentation. Now, the process is faster than ever and practitioners save time and money. It's time for you to start - http://www.startstop.com/

Understanding HASS in Product Testing

By

Most manufacturers boast that their products are the best in the market. However, consumers won't easily purchase their products no matter how good their marketing schemes are if the product doesn't meet the consumer requirements. The best option for manufacturers to provide proof that their products are reliable and safe is for their products to undergo product safety testing.
Product testing is a vital quality assurance process that is implemented during the production process. There are various procedures for product safety testing that products need to go through. One of these procedures is known as HASS testing.
HASS Testing: Finding Product Defects
HASS or Highly Accelerated Stress Screening is a procedure that is done during the development stage of the manufacturing process. During this procedure, any defects that can cause product failures are detected. This procedure is very effective in finding failures that may have gone unnoticed during the traditional testing stages.
The HASS testing will push the product past the specification to find any weaknesses. This means that the merchandise will need to undergo extreme temperature, rapid thermal cycling, and vibration testing- usually at the same time, to find any design weaknesses. The main goal of this testing procedure is to maximize the stress applied to the product, reduce the screening time, and make sure that the products will remain intact and undamaged. This procedure is very important for testing devices used in medical, avionics, and defense industries. Despite all these, the HASS testing still uses lower stress levels as compared to HALT. As compared to the HALT testing, the temperature and voltage used in this procedure is reduced by about 10-15%. HASS is not a standardized, prescriptive product safety testing procedure, but it is an optimized engineering solution.
Why HASS Testing Is Done
HASS testing is used to verify and make sure that the products will be able to offer the performance it promises. This procedure is done to know if there are any shifts in the interior performance of the product during the manufacturing process. It is also essential for this procedure to be performed by a company that specializes in accelerated life testing. Among the main benefits of HASS testing are:
  • Reduce the time during product development and design
  • The merchandise are released sooner into the market
  • The superior quality and efficacy of the product is assured
  • Increase the satisfaction and confidence of consumers
  • Lower product recalls and warranty costs
  • Higher returns and profitability
The author of this post offers information about product safety testing. She also offers basic information regarding HASS testing which is one of the procedures done to ensure the quality of the product. There are third-party product testing companies who can perform HASS test on various products, such as Professional Testing "EMI", Inc.

An Overview Of EPOS Systems And Their Many Advantages

By

Expert Author David DD Duncan
Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) software is often found in most retail and wholesale businesses. EPOS systems are designed to help in improving business performance and productivity. When running a shop, investing for an EPOS is really an ideal way to do things. An EPOS can really help your retailing business in many ways. It enables your information to be stored and even accesed to the advantage of your business. The system also provides accurate and reliable insights about the status of the business through automated monitoring of business processes.
EPOS systems are often found at a business' checkout area but can also be linked into some other terminals related to the business. As a matter of fact, the system can also be linked to a running website. When you link EPOS to the system of your business website, your customers will then be provided with updated and real time information regarding with your stock via automatic stock control. Also, links to other business terminals within your shop will result to a much greater control of your company as a whole.
EPOS can be a great way of storing all sales information of a business. Through using the automated system, the system can be able to detect the demand on different products. The information can then be used in reducing your inventory. If you found out that some of your products do not sell well with a particular time frame, you can place these products on alternate websites like eBay. This can be done when you are using EPOS systems to monitor your sales on different products since it can be manipulated through this automated system. The EPOS software can also let the users print receipts and voucher, and even send reliable information regarding important transactions to your suppliers and customers. That way, the system can help in improving business reliability and efficiency. The EPOS software is also easy to use as it is designed from a user's perspective. It can help in calculating where the profit lies. It can also help the business through identifying customer habits of the customers and it keeps track on the movement of the stock. This also means that all members of the company can reduce or increase the order of the products from your suppliers according the demand as well as profit gained from the products.
Other Benefits Of EPOS Systems
EPOS software provides the suppliers with purchasing data and tracking sales. It gives the suppliers the right information especially in customer purchasing habits. Your marketing also helps the system factor your own order demands.
You can also integrate data from your EPOS systems with data from other handheld scanners. This means that you can be able to track products with barcodes right from your suppliers up to the store's final point of sale. Because of that, you can then be able to identify and compare different supplier's performances as well as their efficiency in times of delivery. After you have assessed different suppliers, you can better improve your business based on the results.

Different Types Of Servers Available In The Market Today

By

A server in non-technical language is a computer system that conducts or hosts several computer services in order to ensure that computers in a network or the internet can communicate in turn making two or more people on different computers communicate effectively. There are several types of servers and they are classified depending on the kind of work they do, they are
  • web servers
  • Mail severs
  • application servers
  • File servers
  • Proxy servers
  • Real-time servers
Proxy Servers
These servers are normally found between a web browser and another server normally outside of the room normally on the internet where it filters and helps to fulfill the requests or queries of the initiator as well as sharing connections. It acts as a gateway by receiving requests and relaying them to the other server by simplifying it such that the other server works in the least time therefore improving the performance of the server.
Web Servers
A web server is a server that enables all the data in a website to be received by a browser. It does this by communicating to a disk that has the specific data the client is looking for; getting this information from a disk to a web page cannot be done without this kind of server. This transfer is made possible by the use of programs called protocols; in this case the protocol responsible if the hypertext transfer protocol.
Real-time Servers
These servers are the servers that make chatting possible; they enable the relay of data at the touch of a button. They are also responsible for services such as instant messaging and they have the capacity to carry many such messages or chats at the same time and deliver them on time, instantly. These servers are constantly at work and have been employed by many mobile applications as well as computer and internet programs.
File Transfer Protocol Servers
FTP is probably the oldest protocol in the internet world, it is the protocol that enables the secure transfer of files across the internet form one webpage to another, one email to another and the like. It is such protocols that led to the design and coding of protocols such as HTTP and languages such as HTML and XHTML.
Open Source Servers
Open source servers embrace the freedom of all other open source software and are a critical part in enabling the exchange of data in all information technology infrastructures but are dominantly found in open source operating systems such as Apache and Linux.
Cloud servers
These servers are the newest in the market and boast the ability to do many tasks including supervision of other servers and storing data. They are virtual and therefore found on the web and help, to keep the integrity of online data for most websites now because they save space and money.

Cloud Servers Vs Dedicated Servers

By

Cloud computing is fast becoming the best thing to ever happen in the computer world; and a feat that is not so easy in a word that is dominated by daily change of updates, and software development. Cloud server hosting is a new way of backing up data where the client is setup with a virtual account where he can save and manage his entire data network without the need of a physical server.
The client can be able to save the data, change it and access it because only he has the password to his cloud network.
The traditional dedicated server was a prerequisite for people who needed internet hosting, however that has all changed and here is why
Cloud hosting is cheaper
Cloud hosting does not require the hardware that comes with dedicated servers; this is because they have smaller hosting models that perform and make sure better security; all at a cheap price, which makes many companies, prefer the use of such technology.
Cloud servers offer better Security
When backing up data, the major consideration is the security of the data, and then you can think of other issues such as cost and what have you. Cloud servers also known as VPS accounts are designed such that they do not interact with each other further frustrating hacking efforts and offer an opportunity to build your server firewall in our own design or customization.
VPS hosting offers faster services
In business, and now in the current market, time is a commodity that has found so much value. That said nobody wants to sit in front of their computer waiting for a response from their server to respond or reply. Cloud services are configured such that they use the shortest time to relay the data they contain after receiving such a request from the client. They also do not need physical connections that can be time wasting and error strewn.
Cloud servers give more capability
This is in terms of control, if the client would like to supervise how his data is backed up, he can do so using cloud hosting services whose infrastructure has been simplified to allow anyone with elementary computer training to understand how to use it and manipulate it as long as they have the right passwords. You can also customize your cloud by installing your own software and hardware.
Could servers have better performance
The space on cloud computers are well-regulated, this means you get resources as you need them, therefore, avoiding the occurrence of bigger companies using up most of the cloud space and leaving none for the smaller one. The resources are also expandable by the service provider and are usually big enough to hold a huge amount of data.

Types of Internet Protocols

By

Internet protocols are different types of Internet connections for different things on the World Wide Web. They help in the retrieval, transfer, exchange and downloading of files, or information on the Internet. Without these protocols, the Internet would not be, as we know it today because many browsers would not work without the permission of these protocols. There are different types of Internet protocols each serving a different purpose. These are
1. Electronic mail transfer protocol
This protocol allows for the use and availability of email, it is what the post office is to letters. It consists of three other protocols that make transfer and access of the emails; these are the simple mail transfer protocol (SMTP), the Internet message access protocol (IMAP) and the Post office protocol 3 (POP3). The IMAP and POP3 are the protocols that allow you to receive emails while the SMTP is used when sending emails hence the "transfer" part. These three protocols are embedded in most web browsers.
2. NNTP
This protocol is used as a server of Usenet forums that are dedicated to organizational forums that have different topics of discussion. These forums are broken down to topics, subjects or genres. This protocol offers a platform where they can be discussed and views exchanged.
3. File retrieval protocols
As the name suggest, this protocols allow you to retrieve information from the Internet to the computer or from the computer to the Internet. Though it is now redundant, you could use it to view the files if you knew the name of the file or properties about it.
4. FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
The file transfer protocol is a protocol that allows you to move one file from your computer to another on the Internet. You can also log on to a computer remotely and access the files in it with authority from the other computer. This protocol also allows downloading of applications from the Internet.
5. Telnet
This protocol allows you to access a remote computer. It works in such a way you are able to view files on the other computer as if you were there by telneting into a specific file or application in the remote computer and you are able to see what is on the computer. It is a darling with many hackers.
6. Gopher
Gopher allows you to know a few details about a file, application or a description of a file before you download it. These files could be on a remote computer and gopher allows you to view these files in a hierarchical manner and delivers them to you when you search them on the server.
7. HTTP
This protocol allows web servers to show and display all the aspects of a webpage. They form the first part of every web address such that all web pages or website. This protocol makes it easy for the file transfer protocol to do its work.

Predicting Product Release Dates Using Agile

By

Expert Author Jeff M Nall
If you can't reliably set a project deadline based on hours of work, how do you do it?
Everything hinges around User Stories and the relative effort the team assigns to each. The Product Owner solicits users for the features they want in this new product and captures this information in the form of User Stories. During Sprint Planning (and backlog grooming-another topic) the team gives their best "Snap" judgement of how much effort it will take to complete a story. Effort is reflected in many ways but most commonly using a Fibonacci number sequence (1,2,3,5,8,13,21,44,65, etc). A low effort Story is a 1, increasing in difficulty the larger the number. The Product Owner considers the effort involved along with how valuable functionality is to the customer base and prioritizes the User Stories accordingly. The highest value, lowest effort stories tending to be first in the priority list ending with the lowest value, highest difficulty stories at the bottom.
An Agile team determines it's commitment for a Sprint based on a history of how many Effort points a they complete on average in a Sprint. Let's say in the last Sprint the team completed three user stories. The team came to a consensus that each of the three user stories had effort values of 3,13, 1 and 5. The sum of these numbers is called Velocity.
The team has a Velocity of 22.
With newly formed teams this Velocity number will vary wildly from sprint-to-sprint. Established, well functioning teams will see this number stabilize and increase over time. I'm leaving off quite a bit of info on backlog grooming, technical debt and making adjustments on the fly, but this 30,000 foot view hits the highlights. I'll cover Velocity points in detail in a future post because while they're simple, I've seen them misused as ratios to hours worked and generally something other than the educated "snap" team judgement they're meant to be.
So how do you predict the release date? You do it basically the same way a team decides how many user stories it can commit to completing in a Sprint. At this level, add up the effort points for all of the user stories that comprise Version 1.0 of your product, divide it by the amount of effort points the agile team is averaging in a (typically two week) sprint and look at a calender. You'll get a decent ball park estimate of when the product will be finished. Let's say you've added up the effort points of all of the user stories in Version 1.0 and you've come up with 100. Your agile team is averaging 20 points in a two week sprint. You can plan on about 10 weeks for a rough project completion time.
You can still generally plan your releases in Agile just like you do in any other development model, you just have to learn to rely on different indicators, that's all. The big difference is Agile acknowledges the unknown while other methods try to hide it.
